No idea who came up with this particular detail, but I guess it is part of the reputation of the general population over here...
Reputations and expectations...everyone has one ...whether it is positive or negative in the view of their peers or their independent personal perspective...
Many people see from those teenager shows and movies where some "popular" adolescents share their vital knowledge that keeping up a reputation is hard work...
